BallıMix — Shake to Unlock the Taste!
The Challenge
Balparmak wanted to increase awareness and trial of its international product BallıMix, a no-sugar, honey-and-hazelnut spread. However, standing out in crowded mobile advertising environments required more than a static message — it needed movement, curiosity, and surprise.
The Insight
We knew that simple gestures like “shaking the phone” were not only familiar to mobile users but also fun, unexpected, and capable of creating stronger memory recall. By inviting users to physically interact with the ad, we could amplify brand engagement and make the product message more memorable.
The Solution
We developed a mobile-exclusive, interactive HTML5 banner that reacted to the phone’s motion sensor. Upon seeing the opening screen — featuring the BallıMix jar and hazelnuts with the message “Shake your phone to boost the taste!” — users instinctively shook their devices. This action revealed a second screen, highlighting the unique formula: “No Sugar! 60% honey, 21% hazelnuts. Blended for peak deliciousness.”
The Results
The campaign exceeded expectations. A remarkable 71% of users who viewed the banner engaged by shaking their phones — making it Balparmak's most interactive digital campaign to date. This level of engagement not only delivered the message effectively but also gave users a moment of delight tied directly to the brand.
